Lyrics & Devil Town Ukulele Chords

Chord: Am, G, F, C, Gsus4, Fm

[Verse 1]

Life's alright in Devil Town

We're right, no one's gonna catch us now

Dad has bought a new car now

We're fine, no one's gonna catch us now (Okay)

[Verse 2]

You said something dumb again

She's mad, at least that's what they say

Mum and Daddy aren't in love

That's fine, I'll settle for two birthdays

[Chorus]

Devil Town is colder in the summertime

I'll lose my mind at least another thousand times

Hold my hand tight, we'll make it another night

I still get a little scared of something new

But I feel a little safer when I'm with you

Falling doesn't feel so bad when I know you've fallen this way too

[Verse 3]

We're all dead in Devil Town

That's fine, 'cause nothing's gonna scare us now

We're all in our dressing gowns, mine's white and stripey

Yours is green and brown

[Verse 4]

I forgot my name again

I think that's something worth remembering

Spiders in your favourite shoes

Just leave them

Because they're more scared of you

[Chorus]

Devil town is colder in the summertime

I'll lose my mind at least another thousand times

Hold my hand tight, we'll make it another night

I still get a little scared of something new

But I feel a little safer when I'm with you

Falling doesn't feel so bad when I know you've fallen this way too

[Instrumental break] [Chorus]

Devil town is colder in the summertime

I'll lose my mind at least another thousand times

Hold my hand tight, we'll make it another night

I still get a little scared of something new

But I feel a little safer when I'm with you

Falling doesn't feel so bad when I know you've fallen this way too

Some Thought About Devil Town

Devil Town is a hauntingly beautiful ballad by singer-songwriter Cavetown. This song has been stuck in my head since the first time I heard it, and I knew that I had to cover it on the ukulele.

The chords are simple enough for a beginner to play, but there's so much emotion in this song that it's sure to resonate with everyone who hears it.

The first thing that struck me about this song is the opening line: "I'm living in a devil town". Immediately, we are transported to a place that is dark and foreboding.

The simple strumming of the ukulele sets a distinctly ominous tone, which is only accentuated by Cavetown's ethereal vocal performance.

As the song progresses, we learn that this devil town is not some physical place, but rather a state of mind.

It's a place where the sun never shines and the shadows are always lengthening. This is a place where hope feels lost and dreams die.

But in spite of all of this, Cavetown sings with defiance in his voice. He refuses to give up hope, and he urges us to do the same.

Because as long as we keep fighting, there's always a chance that we'll find our way out of the darkness and into the light.

If you're looking for a song to brighten your day, this isn't it.

But if you're in the mood for something introspective and hauntingly beautiful, then I highly recommend giving "Devil Town" by Cavetown a listen. And if you're feeling brave, try playing it yourself on your ukulele!
